When lighting for the first time, let the candle burn for 30–60 minutes to melt the wax to the edge of the jar — this prevents a 'tunnel' and wax residue on the edges. Before each subsequent lighting, trim the wick to about 5 mm. The height of the flame while burning may fluctuate, which is completely normal.
